  • Revisit identifying the key components in workplace allegations, recognising professional boundaries, low-level concerns, position of trust and the statutory obligations of reporting incidents to the Designated Officer Local Authority.
  • Describe the definition of domestic abuse under the legislation, organisational responsibilities towards staff and the impact on adults and children.
  • Refresh the component parts of grooming.
  • Identify the key components of the framework to assess children and adults, together with the process to assess mental capacity.
  • Define the escalation and whistleblowing process.
  • Identify the responsibilities relating to safeguarding with the Charity Commission, including the duty to report certain incidents.

Course Description

The role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead has become more important than ever in managing safeguarding in organisations. As with all positions it is so important to refresh knowledge and keep updates about guidance and legislation. This course will bring up to date existing designated safeguarding leads for both child & adult combined.
