Course Description

This course is designed to help staff and organisations understand and support children whose mental health problems manifest themselves in behaviour.

The Safeguarding Children course is designed to help staff recognise their existing roles and responsibilities in relation to promoting good mental health and wellbeing whilst understanding the link between mental health and behaviour.

The course explores disruptive, withdrawn, anxious, depressed or otherwise, may be related to a mental health problem and how to support them in these circumstances. We also focus on prevention, identification, early support and access to specialist support.

Certain individuals and groups are more at risk of developing mental health problems than others, the course will explore the risk factors that can relate to the child themselves, to their family or their community or life events.
