Course Introduction

Most of us experience trauma in our lifetimes. Practitioners in health and social care settings often work with adults and families who are in crisis, experience complex needs with histories of trauma.

This interactive course supports practitioners to explore how past experiences, relationships, intersectionality, and context affect current ways of being, relationships and interactions. The course includes strategies that will support direct work with individuals. Importantly there is also a focus on practitioner wellbeing and strategies that can support practitioners and organisational resilience.

Duration – 6 x Hours (09.30AM – 16.30PM)

Who are the key speakers?

Chrissy Bulling

Chrissy is a qualified social worker with extensive knowledge and experience concerning operational, strategic and service development in both statutory and third-sector agencies. She has led on developing trauma-informed working practices and training pathways for council partnerships and is a trustee and independent trainer for Oasis Project which has recently acquired a ‘Trauma Informed Organisation’ accreditation.

Chrissy will be sharing her expertise surrounding trauma, trauma responses and the impact on families as well as vicarious trauma and resilience.
