
SAFE Associate – Holly Goodwin
Holly is an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead with twenty years of teaching experience in UK schools, and five years in a Senior Leadership position. She has led safeguarding teams covering all key stages from 3 years to 19 years, in junior, senior and sixth form settings. Most recently, Holly has worked as a DSL, Head of Pastoral Care and Head of Boarding with international boarding students in an independent school setting.
Holly has trained school staff on a wide range of safeguarding in education matters including regulatory updates to Keeping Children Safe in Education, Domestic Abuse, Child Criminal/ Sexual Exploitation and Harmful Sexual Behaviour. In addition, she has written policies for schools including Staff Codes of Conduct and Safeguarding Policies, and has trained school staff on their implementation.
Since working with SAFE, Holly also delivers safeguarding training to other settings including most recently to a number of universities. Holly has developed and taught courses in both Adult and Child safeguarding and Safeguarding for Tutors.
Holly has completed Level 3 safeguarding training and holds a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Child Protection at the University of Kent. She is trained in DSL supervision and has recently completed a Mental Health First Aid Course.
Holly has completed Level 3 safeguarding training and is about to begin an MA in Advanced Child Protection at the University of Kent. She is trained in DSL supervision and has recently completed a Suicide First Aid course.
