Ian McGraw

Ian is currently a safeguarding advisor for education with a London local authority as well as working independently with schools, charities, and sports clubs, providing training, consultancy and safeguarding compliance reviews to all phases of education.

Ian previously managed the Education Safeguarding Team at Surrey County Council working with over 500 schools supporting Headteachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads and Governors with training, safeguarding investigations and risk assessments.

Ian retired from the Metropolitan Police Service in 2011 having specialised in child protection as a covert internet investigator and a detective working on the operational team of The Paedophile Unit at New Scotland Yard.

Ian has been a safeguarding governor with 3 local schools and specialises in ensuring schools have their safeguarding policies, procedures and practice in place prior to an inspection.
