
SAFE Associate – Jamie Pope
Jamie began his career as a Prison Officer with Her Majesty’s Prison Service in 2000 before qualifying as a Social Worker in 2004.
He is a highly skilled professional with over 19 years’ experience in numerous operational and senior leadership positions with responsibility for a wide range of multi-disciplinary statutory and third sector services either locally, regionally, or nationally.
Some of the roles Jamie has held include Head of Safeguarding & Referrals Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, National Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer England National Youth Advocacy Service, Head of Corporate Parenting, Head of Service Children & Family Social Care, Safeguarding Lead MH&LD, Service Manager.
Jamie has:
- A wealth of social work and safeguarding experience within the statutory sector, in Local Authority, Health, ITV ‘Emmerdale’ as well as the Third Sector.
- Experience of developing strong multi-agency partnerships and implementing policies and processes to promote outstanding provision of services.
- A track record of developing and improving services, through staff development, robust process management, and collaborative working with multi-agency partners.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Trained Practice Teacher.
In his more recent roles, he has managed and delivered organisational change, reviewed, and implemented new governance and performance management arrangements and frameworks, carried out thematic review on behalf of safeguarding board in Wales, the author of corporate parenting strategy and range of pre and post inspection and national programme action plans for range of organisations across statutory, independent school and third sector.
Jamie is passionate about making a difference and working collaboratively with colleagues, children, young people, and their families to find safe and sustainable solutions.
