
SAFE Associate – Deborah Somerset
Deborah is an experienced safeguarding children and adult at risk trainer and consultant. She has 35 years experience in the fields of Social Care, Learning and Development, criminal justice and education. Deborah has had the pleasure of working with children, young people and families in a variety of settings, including schools, residential units, including Secure facilities, a Behaviour Support Service and Youth Offending Teams.
Deborah is a qualified Mentor and Adult Education Tutor, in addition to holding advanced Child Protection qualifications. She currently delivers training on behalf of Kidscape and Barnardos and has been an independent trainer/consultant since 2011.
Deborah has delivered a variety of safeguarding courses over the years, including both single and multi-agency. Her specialisms include DSL, Supervision Skills and Train the Trainer in Child Protection. Deborah also delivers training on behalf of Sheffield Safeguarding Adult Board.
As a Learning and Development professional, Deborah is focused and committed to inclusion and diversity and adept at delivering serious messages and ideas in an accessible way.
