Jo Wilson

A former Headteacher and now safeguarding advisor to a leading NHS Trust, Jo is a highly respected child protection specialist with over 17 years of experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead. Jo brings a wealth of frontline experience, as well as knowledge of safeguarding leadership to her work and has led many whole school training sessions – including regulatory updates to Keeping Children Safe in Education, Child Criminal Exploitation and child neglect.

Jo currently works for the NHS, supporting the development of robust safeguarding practices across healthcare settings. She also delivers children’s safeguarding training at all levels, helping health professionals to protect vulnerable children effectively. Jo is trained in safeguarding supervision and effectively supports and empowers staff to address safeguarding concerns with confidence.

Jo also works as an independent safeguarding consultant, providing expert guidance and training across education and healthcare. With a compassionate and comprehensive approach, Jo ensures that her trainees and consulting clients feel confident and capable in providing safe environments for all.
