Karen Howard

Since 2019, Karen has worked as an Independent Safeguarding Consultant. Karen’s professional background is in health, mental health and learning disability. She has worked for many years in statutory services in clinical, managerial, and forensic psychiatry, with the last 20 years focusing on safeguarding and public protection.

Karen is experienced in delivering training for adult and child safeguarding, including other topics. She has extensive experience of undertaking risk assessment, complaint and clinical incident reviews, statutory safeguarding reviews – child and adult, domestic and mental health homicides with published reviews. Karen always enjoys a challenge and looks forward to working as an Associate Trainer and Consultant with SAFE.
