SAFE Associate – Rachel Freeman

Rachel spent 31 years working in the Police, mostly as a detective and safeguarding specialist.  She is now working as a safeguarding consultant and trainer.

Rachel has predominantly worked in the field of investigation within Child Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Abuse & Vulnerable Adults. Rachel is an accredited trainer (Diploma in Education and Training with Canterbury Christchurch University).  Due to this qualification, Rachel spent six years within the leaning and development department of Kent Police and delivered multiple training course on domestic abuse, child abuse, adult abuse, achieving best evidence, sexual offences, honour based violence, forced marriage, female genital mutilation and stalking.

Rachel is a Tier 3 suspect and Tier 3 Achieving Best Evidence interviewer as well as a Tier 5 witness and suspect interview advisor.  Rachel is also accredited in the Forensic Questioning of Children programme.

Rachel has experience of conducting safeguarding reviews and sits as an independent foster panel member.  Adding to her teaching experience, Rachel also delivers sessional lectures at four universities.

Rachel is passionate about keeping those most vulnerable in our communities safe.  She enjoys sharing her experience as an investigator and is always seeking a dynamic delivery to the training she delivers.
