SAFE Associate – Sara Rayers

Sara has served in the police for 30 years and during this time has undertook a variety of roles in Safeguarding and Family Liaison. Sara went on to specialise in the investigations of Child, Adult abuse and complex rape investigations. During this time, she received a number of Chief Constable, Judge and Commander commendations for her work in this field.

Sara has developed her knowledge and skills around interviewing and is an advanced interviewer where she can be called upon to interview offenders for complex investigations.

Sara was a Family Liaison officer for over 26 years and tutored new FLOs coming into the role.

Upon retirement from the Police, Sara continues to train detectives and outside agencies in Visually Recorded Interviewing of Children and Adults. She also trains officers in the role of FLO and MOSOVO where she holds an MOSOVO trainer accreditation. Sara also recently completed a Trauma Informed Working in Multi-agency arena.

Sara still enjoys sitting on the boards of new recruits and interviewing applicants for the role of Police Officer, Transferees to Devon and Cornwall and Special Constables.
