
SAFE Associate – Sarah Knight
Sarah is a highly experienced trainer and safeguarding professional with a strong track record of designing and delivering engaging, high-quality training across sport, education and statutory services. With over two decades of experience, she has developed extensive expertise in safeguarding children and adults, welfare case management, Time to Listen, Team Manager training and First Aid.
Currently Lead Safeguarding and Welfare Officer for Swim Wales, Sarah works closely with clubs, national governing bodies, statutory agencies and boards to ensure safeguarding policies are effective, embedded and operational. Alongside this role, she works as a freelance and associate trainer for organisations including Sports Wales, UK Coaching, Welsh Rugby Union and the Ann Craft Trust, delivering tailored training to a wide range of audiences from volunteers to senior leaders.
Sarah’s training style is supportive, practical and highly engaging, creating a safe learning environment where participants feel confident to ask questions and explore challenging subjects. Her delivery is underpinned by significant frontline experience, including 13 years as a Detective Constable and Police Trainer within CID, Child Protection and Domestic Violence units. Combining real-life experience with a passion for learning and development, Sarah ensures participants leave her sessions informed, confident and motivated to apply safeguarding principles in their own roles
