SAFE Associate – Sylwia Sakowicz-Scott
Sylwia is a highly skilled and experienced trainer who, for the past 9 years, has built a proven track record of developing and delivering high quality training packages to Local Authorities, Education, NGO’s, Police and Youth Justice System.
Over the past 20 years, Sylwia has worked within the Local Authority setting, Charitable Sector and Youth Justice System, both in community and custodial setting. This enabled Sylwia to develop an excellent knowledge of working and supporting children and young who have been completing various Court Orders and collaborating with vast number professionals and multi-agency networks.
Sylwia has a vast knowledge of delivering training around Exploitation, Safeguarding, Youth Justice System, Harmful Sexual Behaviour, Modern Savery Framework and National Referral Mechanism.
Previously Sylwia has also worked as a trainer delivering comprehensive packages focused on awareness raising and preventing Child Exploitation to the Nighttime Economy organisations across London, such as Hotels, National Rail and Coach Networks, Metropolitan and City of London Police, Security Companies and Taxi industry, just to name the few.
Sylwia has developed and delivered training packages focused of Child Exploitation in the context of Modern Slavery to Barnardo’s Advocates based in Young Offender’s Institutes and to the Home Office’s Visas and Immigration Officers.
Sylwia has designed and delivered Safeguarding training to DSLs working in Polish Educational Establishments across the UK. Sylwia is also collaborating with Psychotraumatology Foundation in Gdansk, Poland, where she was invited as a key note speaker at their Annual Conference delivering an input focused on Traumatic Bonding in the context of Gang Exploitation.
Alongside working within the National Counter Trafficking Centre, Sylwia works as a freelance trainer with Canter of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse delivering training to professionals working with children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviour.
In her spare time Sylwia likes reading, going to the theatre and long walks, where she can enjoy the beautiful Norfolk countryside.
