  • Explore the training needs of staff within Scottish Government Learning and Development Framework within GIRFEC and explore GIRFE model for adults.
  • Identify the key components of the framework to assess children and adults, together with the process to assess mental capacity.
  • Define the escalation and whistleblowing process.
  • Identify the responsibilities of your board of trustees relating to safeguarding within OSCR.

Course Description

The role of the Designated Protection Officer for children and adults is an important role in organisations that work with children, young people and adults at risk of harm. This course will explore the legislation and responsibilities within Scotland to support you in your role.
